My Big Goal 

I’d like to move into the Senior Accountant position. Maybe in the next few months. 

My Big Lesson

Especially in 2022, I learned that we all need to enjoy life and not complain too much. 

My Favorite Memory

When I transferred to Pod 4B, I became part of a great team that helped me achieve the next position by sharing a lot of knowledge and support. It helped me set new goals for myself. 

My Favorite Proper Value 

Fun While Getting It Done. We all maintain a high level of performance, but when we enjoy it, there’s less stress. We share with the team, and they support us. It’s one of the things that keeps us together even when we work at a distance. 

My Big Surprise 

The work we’ve done for Ballast investment. It was a challenge when I came into the Pod, but with the support of folks like Marco, who helps us divide the work, I was surprised by what we’ve accomplished. We were able to retain the client and improve their operation. 

What I’m Proud Of

I’m very proud to be part of the company. I’ve been with other companies in other positions, and I’m always surprised by how Proper treats its employees—they care about us. I’m proud to work here because I’ve grown a lot, both professionally and personally.

The Fun Stuff

What was your childhood ambition?

A soccer player. I was close—I was on a team when I was younger. I lived in Pachuca and Monterrey for training, but I still enjoy it. 

If you could work remotely from absolutely anywhere, where would it be? 

In December, I worked from Rome and Greece for a few days, and now I’d like to try working from somewhere like Singapore or Bali. 

What is your favorite type of taco? 

I recently became a vegetarian, so my new favorite is a quesadilla of cuitlacoche or flor de calabaza. 

What’s something you saw or read recently that inspired you?

My trip to Europe changed my perspective. I met a lot of people and saw different living conditions that challenged my worldview. Specifically in Greece, they really enjoy life. Despite their recent economic issues, they carry on through good times and bad. The sun always shines there.

If you could be any animal, which would you be, and why? 

Axolotl. It’s native to Mexico, so its scientific classification is (Ambystoma mexicanum), which reminds me of how proud I am to be Mexican.

What’s your go-to karaoke song?

Tea or coffee? 

I tried Greek coffee recently. It’s very strong, and I really liked it, but I’m still a tea person.

Aztec — Gary Jennings
