My Big Goal

I’m interested in learning how to go from designs to code more easily with Figma, so I’ve been exploring the Figma bibles and learning how to use plugins to convert variables and design into code.

I’d like to automate the more tedious parts of my job and take Figma files to code, so right now, I’m learning those tools so I can work on app architecture and more vital aspects of our products. 

My Big Lesson

My last job was with Huge, a large website marketing company that represents Google and Nike. It was very structured and regimented. 

In contrast, here at Proper, I’ve learned about how startups evolve and grow. I went from a big corporate environment, where you’re a small cog in a big machine, to being closer to the work, where you significantly impact the final output and goals. 

My Favorite Memory 

On Friday, the engineers play virtual football together. I really enjoy those Friday activities together. 

My Big Surprise

It’s related to my big lesson. I’ve been surprised by the fast-pace that comes with startup life. 

What I’m Proud Of 

I’ve learned a lot about Chrome extensions, their architecture, and technical nuance. I’m also proud of the Client Portal (app.proper.ai)  for ticketing and billing—it’s good work in terms of UX/UI and Frontend development. 

The Fun Stuff

What was your childhood ambition?

For a long time, I dreamed of being an actor. I performed a lot of theater in college. 

If you could work remotely from absolutely anywhere, where would it be?

I’d love to explore Latin and South America with just my bag, particularly Dilla de Leyva where I’m from.

What is your favorite type of taco? 

Easy. Al pastor. 

What has inspired you recently? 

I’m inspired by the Colombian football team. We’re going to win Copa America this year. 

If you could be any animal, which would you be, and why?

A dolphin. I like diving, so I’d enjoy swimming among the corals.

Coffee. Everyday.
