My Big Goal

I want to give my best possible performance in my new position. I’m new as a Senior —it’s only my first month— so I want to focus on this role as best I can for now. Once I’ve got that, I’ll look toward the future as a Supervisor or beyond. 

My Big Lesson 

This is my first time managing people, so working in a supervisory role has been challenging as I learn to work with different personalities and work styles. 

My Favorite Memory

In a Pod 6 team building, everyone shared a letter in appreciation of someone else in the Pod. We wrote and received letters, then described each other positively in front of the group without names, then guessed who we were talking about. It was a sort of “secret appreciation” — a nice way to see how you’re perceived and express how you perceive others. It was a great activity.

My Big Surprise 

The kindness of everyone. I’m very happy with my team — they’re very kind and supportive. In previous jobs, I didn’t feel as connected as I am to my team, but I feel 100% part of this team.

It’s the Pod 6 DNA — we’re all very kind and supportive people, and I have the best leaders ever in Janeth, Mariana, Erika, and Paola. 

What I’m Proud Of 

After less than one year at Proper, I’m proud that I was promoted to Senior Accountant. I’m glad that my leaders saw the potential in me,

The Fun Stuff

What was your childhood ambition?

I wanted to be an astronaut as a child. It’s common among kids, just like doctor or engineer, but I got practical experience in accounting. 

If you could work remotely from absolutely anywhere, where would it be?

Santa Marta — a city near the beach. It’s not the biggest town, but it has good food, good wine, and happy people. 

What is your favorite type of taco?

Al pastor. 

What has inspired you recently? 

Paola Gomez, in my Pod, is very inspirational. She’s an example of what I want to be in terms of how she treats people and performs her work. She’s the best leader I’ve ever had. 

If you could be any animal, which would you be, and why?

An eagle. It’s a strong animal at the top of the food chain.

Coffee.

What’s a movie everyone should see at least once?

Pearl Harbor 

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?

A former boss told me that when you teach, you learn twice.
