My Big Goal 

Help Proper thrive by contributing tools that make the Delivery team’s jobs easier. I’d like to help the Engineering team contribute as much as possible to Proper’s services. We’ve had some challenges providing services to clients, so Engineering is focused on improving services to be more accurate and keep our customers happy. 

My Big Lesson 

Focus on communication between each other. The Engineering team grew and split into two smaller teams, so some communication breakdowns came up, which helped us learn to communicate better and keep each other up to date.

Even if we’re not a big department, we still have to remain in communication; otherwise, things will go out of control, and a million little things can add up to a catastrophe. 

My Favorite Memory 

Visiting the San Francisco office was one of the best things to happen. I was only there for a day, and a lot of the team was in Mexico, so not everyone was there, but it was nice to know where our headquarters is and see how simple and welcoming it is. 

My Big Surprise 

How we’ve restarted hiring after some staffing changes. It indicates how Proper shifts focus to its priorities, depending on what the business needs most urgently. It’s a good thing since we’re a startup and should be able to adapt to changes, yet it always surprises me how quickly we can change direction and push forward. 

What I’m Proud Of 

Leading part of the Engineering team in pushing for standardization and process improvement. We’re still pushing for improvement in our results, but I’m proud of our work thus far.

What was your childhood ambition?

I’ve always wanted to be a race car driver!

If you could work remotely from absolutely anywhere, where would it be?

Now I like San Francisco. 

What is your favorite type of taco? 

Campechano! I’d never actually had tacos until the Argentina visit with the whole team, and that’s one thing we don’t usually get in Còrdoba. 

What has inspired you recently? 

My dad. He passed away six months ago, and it got me thinking a lot. 

If you could be any animal, which would you be, and why?

An eagle, because I’d like to fly. 

What’s your go-to karaoke song? 

“Sisters” — Divididos

Tea or coffee? 

Coffee. Definitely, coffee. 

What’s a movie everyone should see at least once?

Pulp Fiction

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?

A former boss told me that if I define a process that’s not being implemented or, in other words, if people are doing things wrong, it’s my fault for not documenting the process well enough.

If we expect people to follow rules around their tasks, that advice reminds me that we can’t keep trying the same approach. We have to define things well to help people achieve.
