I hope to advance my role at Proper in the long term, but my more immediate goal is to create more tools that make the Delivery team’s work easier. 

My Big Lesson

Change is difficult. Even when we’re changing things for the better, those adjustments can be challenging — no matter how much you embrace change. However, even under the best circumstances, change can be hard.

Taco Day! It’s in my virtual background. I’m just waiting for the next one. 

I also started a new relationship with my girlfriend, which has been great.

Some of the personnel changes, particularly among the team in Mexico, have been surprising. 

What I’m Proud Of

I’m proud of my contribution to building tools like those we made recently to validate AppFolio and how they steer Proper in the direction of a firmly tech-based company. The tools we’ve made aren’t necessarily the ultimate solution for our Delivery team: I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished, yet there’s more work to be done.

What was your childhood ambition?

I wanted to be a scientist — a chemist or something. 

If you could work remotely from absolutely anywhere, where would it be?

Iceland or Antarctica. 

What is your favorite type of taco? 

Asada. With lots of flour tortilla, cheese, onion, avocado, and hot sauce.

What’s inspired you recently?

Sometimes, when listening to instrumental music, particularly Hammock, I’m inspired to get my day going. 

If you could be any animal, which would you be, and why?

A koala. They’re cute, chill, and eat eucalyptus leaves. 

What’s your go-to karaoke song?

Tea or coffee? 

Neither! I like sparkling orange juice.

What's the best advice you've ever recieved?

People may forget what you say or think, but they remember what you do, so it doesn’t matter if you flub your words sometimes— who cares?
