My Big Goal 

To take ownership of POPS processes and lead in helping the department reach company objectives. We’ve adapted to a lot lately, so we now have an opportunity to take charge of some of our larger goals. 

My Big Lesson 

How can everything change quickly, and how well can we adapt? Some challenges came, and I thought, “We can’t do that,” but it turns out we could! I’ve been impressed by our capability to adapt. 

My Favorite Memory 

I really enjoyed the POPS holiday party. It was smaller than the company-wide meeting, allowing me to learn more about my POPS colleagues— most of us like Christmas, so we enjoyed having fun with the one colleague who doesn’t!

My Big Surprise 

A project required me to talk to a lot of Proper People in Mexico. It was weeks and weeks of back-to-back meetings. It was the most I’d ever met with so many Proper People. 

I was surprised by how much people cared about the company and how proud they were to be part of the Properverse. It was a challenging project, but I’m glad I connected with people I had never talked to. 

What I’m Proud Of 

Transitioning from finance to POPS and still maintaining finance duties. I’ve managed both finance and POPS tasks in a way that bridges departments, and I like that. 

The Fun Stuff

What was your childhood ambition?

I wanted to work in a travel agency. I have an aunt who worked in a travel agency, and she was always traveling. It sounds glamorous. But the catch is that you’re always working when the rest of the world is on vacation. I even studied tourism as a minor in school. 

If you could work remotely from absolutely anywhere, where would it be?

I’m working towards that! We’re building a custom RV (it's got furniture now!) to travel to all the national parks in the US, Mexico, and Canada. My dream is to work from a national park in an RV.

Carnitas

What has inspired you recently? 

Recently, I attended my sister's recital. She is in a group called 'Dance on Wheels,' a dancing group for people in wheelchairs. Despite the challenges of being in a wheelchair, my sister's passion for dance was visible and inspiring, showing me that everything is possible with resilience and tenacity.

If you could be any animal, which would you be, and why?

Just a regular house cat. They get to enjoy themselves, lie down, and do nothing. They’re super independent and intelligent. 

What’s your go-to karaoke song? 

“Que nadie sepa mi sufrir” — Margarita, la Diosa de la Cumbia I sang this song at Christmas parties. It gets everybody dancing!

Tea or coffee? 

Coffee.

What’s a movie everyone should see at least once?

The King's Speech, is the true story of King George VI's struggle with a stammer and his journey to find his voice. I was very moved when I watched it. 

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?

It came from a psychologist who ¡shared the importance of not taking things personally. They emphasized that people's responses often reflect their own struggles and emotions rather than anything about me. It's a reminder to approach situations with empathy and not let others' reactions define my worth.
