Keep growing to become an Accounting Supervisor or Lead—whatever role I can take on to make things better for Proper and myself. 

My Big Lesson 

There’s always room for improvement. Even if we already understand a task or how a process works, there’s always something to improve for the clients—from financial reporting to analysis—there’s always space to grow. 

My Favorite Memory 

After a call with some of my co-workers, we stayed in a chat for 4-5 hours while we worked on financials and bank recons. We kept chatting the whole time as if we were in the same office working together and not far apart.

Collaboration Fuels Creation. That’s my preferred way of working and my leadership style with my team. 

My Big Surprise 

Despite your role, admin or otherwise, we all pitch in different departments. We work in Operations and Delivery. We always find ways to receive better results as a team. The support I’ve gotten when we need help has been surprising—everyone has each other’s back. 

What I’m Proud Of 

I’ve retained some clients who wanted to leave. Those were satisfying accomplishments. There were a lot of problems to solve for these clients, but we turned it around and helped them have clearer reporting — making the owners and clients happy has been great. 

The Fun Stuff

What was your childhood ambition?

I wanted to be an actor or dancer. 

If you could work remotely from absolutely anywhere, where would it be?

Switzerland or Scotland. I don’t know why, but I’ve always been drawn to those places. If I could just pack my bags and go, I would. 

What is your favorite type of taco? 

Arrachera. 

What has inspired you recently? 

Realizing that I can accomplish a lot independently has been inspiring. I divorced six months ago — I had to move homes, get a new car, and get my kids settled. Taking that first step was hard, but on the other side, I’ve been inspired to discover what I can accomplish on my own in life. 

If you could be any animal, which would you be, and why?

A lioness. I love lions and identify with their protective, independent nature. I’m independent; I can protect my kids and loved ones like a lion. 

What’s your go-to karaoke song? 

“Ojalá que te mueras” — Pesado. I love that song. I always sing it even when I’m not heartbroken or angry.

Coffee. 100%

Ruin and Rising — Leigh Bardugo
